0:25First of all, we sat together with the Global Banking Leadership team and we were trying to identify, what are the important areas that will play a very big role in our market?

Our focus so far on the specification strategy is first on the Retail Banking Industry. We were looking at what are the trends in that industry up to the year 2020. So you might hear the term Retail Banking Story 2020. So what is happening in our Industry?

0:58There are three elements that we see are very important. One element is Cash, physical cash. Another element is Customer Experience, so Customer Experience of the consumer, what the bank is doing for Customer Experience. And Branch Network, what is the Branch Network of the future? How will it be changed? These are three very important aspects for our strategy.

1:23And as we looked at the strategy, we came up with three strategic growth programs. One program is called: True Cash Cycle Management. True Cash Cycle Management – what does it mean “true”? There are a lot of reasons for this “true”, but first of all you should not forget – we invented Cash Recycling. This is our technology – True Cash Cycle Management.

1:44The second strategy is called: Omnichannel Customer Experience and you will just see that these things are very connected, omnichannel as a Customer Experience.

1:54 The third strategy is Branch Network Transformation. It is very important that you understand the importance of these three growth strategies. And the words and terms are very important. Underlying these three growth programs, we have solution areas and it is also clear that these solution areas are global solution areas.

2:22 In True Cash Cycle Management we have three solution areas. And one is, we call it Efficient Cash Access, which means we provide technology for very quick and easy access to cash. Another element is Cash Recycling & Intelligent Deposit. The third element is In-Branch Recycling. And yes – that’s right, we are providing solutions for recycling inside the branch like you heard it in the past with the CCMS story.

2:52In the second growth strategy we have two solution areas. One is Personal Self-Service Experience and that will have solutions around how we can improve the experience of end consumer with our self-service technology. There are very good examples for that, very simple examples – what is a graphical user interface looking like? What technology, what features do we have? Do we have swipe there? Do we have an integration of different input channels on the device that are today in use? The second solution area is Retail Channel Integration. That is something that many customers in the world are looking at. How can they integrate their channel? So can they integrate theself-service channel with the teller channel? How can they integrate the self-service channel with the mobile channel? If you think about CBA introducing cardless cash for instance. And a little bit more complex: How can we integrate these entire three channels together - self-service, mobile and the teller channel? It is not just to save money, it is in order to generate a much broader customer experience and wherever the customer wants to use the bank or the bank´s services, he should be able to do so and we will support this.

4:06 Talking about Branch Network Transformation, we see many banks today starting branch transformation projects. I am pretty sure we will see maybe a little bit more or less branches in the future, but we will see different branches. We will see branches that will have significantly less employees in the branch. Branches that will be significantly smaller, but branches that will offer significantly more opportunities to customers to do business with the bank. The bank will need more choices. Branch Network Diversification is one solution area, where we will help the bank to define different branch types and models. Assisted Self-Service – I would say one of the most beautiful opportunities for us in the future. If you have seen our products on the Wincor World, the C4090 with a mobile teller solution, I would say this is a very good future for us because banks will have to drive transactions away from the teller, more to self-service technology and the assisted self-service gives them an opportunity to not only combine self-service elements, but to stay in contact with the customer whenever it is necessary and important for the customer or the bank. The third element is maybe a bit more visionary. If we look at how will the teller in the bank work tomorrow? I am pretty sure it will become much more mobile. So we see many projects about how we can make the teller more mobile, how we can introduce concepts like Floating Teller and I would also say that this is also representing a very good business opportunity for us.

You have to be able to explain them and not just by talking like I did, but you have also to explain them with numbers, with facts, with customer reference cases and in the next step, you have to be able to explain the solutions below. Of course, we will help you. Our teams are working on defining the solutions below, down to the really orderable product. I believe we have a fantastic opportunity in our industry.
