“jump the gun”

原指“在賽跑中，還沒有聽見槍聲就先搶跑”，在日常生活中引申為“操之過急”。

“throw in the towel”

該習(xí)語起源于西方拳擊賽中扔毛巾表示認(rèn)輸?shù)牧?xí)俗，所以它的意思是“認(rèn)輸”。

“pass the baton”
