PIPE GROOVING MACHINE
 
OPERATING INSTRUCTION MANUAL

1.     Usage
This machine can be used for grooving of the end of pipes such as seamless steel pipe, low pressure fluid pipe, plastic-lining pipe in order to install the annular tube. It is the ideal and essential pipeline machine in infrastructure construction industry and the construction sector.

4.Installation, Repairing and Maintainence

(1)   Inject four pcs of standing legs into the base bottom hole from down to up to install the machine as Figure 1 and tighten the screw. If necessory, fix the steel pipe support as Figure 2
(2)   Put the handle into the hole on the above of the cylinder, tighten it by screw or pin
(3)   Check the motor if the rotation is normal when the machine is no-load runing
(4)   Put the end of pipe on the knurl wheel, the other end on the pipe support, the fulcrum should be 2/3 of the pipe, adjust the hanle of the support to assure the same level of the two end of pipe, usually the pipe support end can be lower 1-2 degrees. Turn the power to see if the operation is normal, if it is, fix the machine as well as the pipe support
(5)   Tighten the relief valve, then press the handle to push the pinch roll bracket move down. Turn on the power so the pinch roll will move closer to the pipe. At first, press fast then slowly, when the pipe surface has the pressure trace. press the handle very slow to add pressure.
(6)   When adjusting the grooving depth and location, first loosen locking screw(Figure 1,7),after measure the first slot depth, tighten locking screw, next time gooving the same slot on other pipes, just press the handle. When pinch roll(Figure 1,14)continuely roll 1-2 circles in order to make good shape, open the relief valve, the pinch roll will deviate from pipe automatically, the avove operation should be operated during machine at work

(7)   Every time open the relief vlave after the grooving finsh, the pinch roll bracket will be on the maximum height, the pipe only can be take off after power turned off.
(8)   When adding hydraulic oil, open the oil filler(Figure 3) to add oil. When replacing oil, open oil drain(Figure 3)then oil can let out. Note: When adding oil please open pressure relief valve.
(9)   In Summer machine is suitable for number 20# hydraulic oil and in Winter number 10# hydraulic oil
(10) Methods to remove the cylinder from motro parts: press the slider and remove it doward, loosen the two locking screw on the combination place of the cylinde piston and the slider, remove 10 hex screw on the cylinder then the cylider can be take out from the motor.
(11) Methods to change pinch roll: Lift the pinch roll bracket to the top, loosen the screw besides((Figure 5), hold the pinch roll then take out the pinch roll axle and repalce the new one
(12) Methos to ajust grooving location: loosen the two hex screw on the pinch roll bracket. Adjust the screw to enable the pinch roll bracket forth and back, the exact location please refer to Figure 4( B need to adjust) finally fix the two hex screw.
(13) When replace pinch roll, please refer to table 2 and choose the suitable knurl wheel. The methods is to take out the main axle bolts then knurl wheel can be replaced.

Note: when big pinch roll match big knurl wheel, B=19MM
     When small pinch roll match small knurl wheel, B=15.8MM

(14) when grooving big diameter of pipe(>=¢165), especially the tube is irregular, it maybe occur strong shake in operation, which will effect the processing quality, at this time, please use guide wheel(Figure 6) the guide wheel is optional for customer
(15)Mehods to install guide wheel: fix the guide wheel on the motor head whose side has two spare screw hole. Use two number above 4.8 screw bolt to fix the guide wheel when grooving, swing the handle to make the guide wheel lean on the tube pipe, tighten the handle, it will reduce shaking in operation.

5. Electric System
The electric system is composed of reducer, motor, forwader/reverse switch as well as the cable group. forwader/reverse switch control forwader , stop or reverse. The theory refer to Figure 7. the machine is driven by only one motor, the operator must comfirm the electric system is suitable for this motor inside. Before in operation, make sure ground wire(black) must be safely connected.
6.Operation Instruction
(1) Before using the machine, please read carefully the manual and comprehensively learn of the machine structure, working principle as well as function. Overload is strictly prohibited.
(2)before powered, please check if the voltage, frequency are suitable for the electric system, ground wire muste be correctly connected.
(3)In Summer fill #20 hydraulic oil into the machine, while #10 hydraulic oil in
Winter.                           5
(4) there is a grease filler on the end of pinch roll bracket, before working add lubracation into it and keep the filler clean.
(5)Before grooving pipe ensure the end of the pipe flat, ortherwise, it will appear deviation in the process of roll grooving ,affecting the processing quality.
(6)Select the suitable knurl wheel and pinch roll according to Table 2, otherwise, it will affect grooving quality.
(7)when grooving big pipes, may it will appear shaking, at this time, hang something heavy (<=200kg) under the bottom of base in case of shake. It is best to bolt on the ground and using the rings to host four legs and three legs of the bracket and fix the machine.
 
7. Common Faults and exclusion method

③.Sealing of the valve leaks.
 
Remove the screw spring of the valve,re-press the seal line (Figure 3).
