The only raw material involved is magnesium chloride brine, whereas all other routes to magnesium oxide involve the use of an ore-derived material lime, dolomite or magnesite. Compared with magnesia from other sources, our MgO is purer than ore-based products often by orders of magnitude in respect to silica, iron, lead and mercury. In-house studies of mixtures of ICL’s magnesia from its two sources, DSP and Scora, show that in many cases the use of combinations yields better performance the either single product used alone.
