Though the poem is short, it has an important message. Zhu, as a poet and philosopher (哲學(xué)家), was good at combining an argument with a description of scenery and explaining his philosophy through figures of speech (修辭手法). This makes his argument understandable and lively.

Another of his famous lines is, “I find the face of east wind in an easy way: Myriads of reds and violets only reveal spring.” Through the description of spring, Zhu conveys (傳達(dá)) a desirable, thriving (繁榮的) scene.
