奧斯卡最佳動(dòng)畫(huà)短片《包寶寶》:中國(guó)式親情戳痛無(wú)數(shù)父母心丨外媒

24日,第91屆奧斯卡獲獎(jiǎng)名單揭曉,最讓中國(guó)觀眾驚喜的當(dāng)屬飽含中國(guó)元素的短片《包寶寶 》(Bao)。
這部牽動(dòng)人心的(heart-tugging)動(dòng)畫(huà)摘走最佳動(dòng)畫(huà)短片“小金人”,也讓中國(guó)式親情獲得全球關(guān)注。
"Bao," Pixar's short film about an adorable Chinese dumpling that comes to life, just won the 2019 Oscar for best animated short film.
皮克斯動(dòng)畫(huà)工作室的短片《包寶寶》獲得2019年奧斯卡最佳動(dòng)畫(huà)短片,講了一個(gè)可愛(ài)的包子變成一個(gè)小人兒的故事。
空巢母親和包子寶寶
8分鐘的動(dòng)畫(huà)短片《包寶寶》以多倫多華裔移民子女的經(jīng)歷為創(chuàng)作靈感,講述了一位中國(guó)“空巢媽媽”的故事,有一天她的包子活了過(guò)來(lái),成為了她的“包兒子”。
Bao revolves around an ageing Chinese mother who suffers from “empty nest syndrome” who gets another chance at motherhood when one of her dumplings springs to life à la Pinocchio.
《包寶寶》的故事圍繞一位患上空巢綜合征的中國(guó)中年母親展開(kāi),當(dāng)她做的一個(gè)包子像匹諾曹一樣有了生命時(shí),她又有了做母親的機(jī)會(huì)。

But as cute dumpling boy quickly morphs into an angst-filled teenager and eventually a grown-up, the mother has to come to terms with the fact that her child will not stay cute—and by herside—forever.

導(dǎo)演石之予發(fā)表感言
她祖籍四川綿陽(yáng),在多倫多長(zhǎng)大。畢業(yè)后,她以實(shí)習(xí)生的身份進(jìn)入迪士尼皮克斯電影公司,并根據(jù)自己作為華人移民的經(jīng)歷,設(shè)計(jì)制作了《包寶寶》。
在奧斯卡頒獎(jiǎng)典禮上,石之予動(dòng)情地發(fā)表了獲獎(jiǎng)感言:
"We’re just so happy that Bao was embraced by the world, and by the Academy. I think one of the great things about being able to make Bao is I got to do a lot more research and dive into my heritage. I kind of took it for granted—my mom making dumplings when I was growing up. I went and visited Chinatown a lot more. And I also got to understand what it was like for my mom… Through making this short, I think I understand her a little bit better."
我們很高興《包寶寶》得到了世界和學(xué)院的認(rèn)可。我認(rèn)為能夠制作這部短片最棒的事情之一就是我做了很多的研究,深入了解了我的傳統(tǒng)。曾經(jīng)我把這一切當(dāng)作理所當(dāng)然——比如我小時(shí)候,媽媽包包子類(lèi)似的事情。我去唐人街的次數(shù)多了,也開(kāi)始了解我媽媽的感受,通過(guò)這部短片,我更理解她了。

When it was released, Asians in Canada and across North America were touched by the way "Bao" so accurately (and adorably) depicted their realities.

The details in the family's home, the way Ma shows her son love with a feast of dishes, the trip to a Chinese grocery, the stop into the bakery to pick up fresh pastries — all of it was so carefully recreated by Shi and her team (her mom even gave the animators dumpling-making lessons), and it hit home in a big way.

“One Small Step” tells the story of Luna, who dreams of becoming an astronaut. With the support of her father, who runs a shoe repair business out of his garage, the young Chinese-American protagonist grows up with ambitious dreams and eventually heads to college where she faces a series of challenges and setbacks.

To craft the story, Chesworth said he and Pontillas were particularly inspired by astronauts such as Chris Hadfield, Liu Yang and Wang Yaping.
